Scribbling away, losing track of time
Then I hear the library clock chime
Must dash, I’ve got a train to catch!
Get to the door, undo the latch
Lock up quick, don’t panic…
Modern life can sometimes be manic
Barely noticing, as I run fast
Stares from people as I go past
Train arrives, surely now I can relax
But no stress levels approach the max
As I wait for the conductor and think about
Everything I need to now that I’m out
Oh what I wouldn’t give right now
To be in a café and oh how
I dream about hot chocolate and cake
Sometimes a leisurely day I’ll take
